On October 31st, 2008, an individual or group of individuals operating under the pseudonym "Satoshi Nakamoto" published the Bitcoin Whitepaper "A Peer-to-Peer electronic cash system" that allows online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a central financial institution."
Bitcoin Cash (BCH)Bitcoin Cash is a hard fork of Bitcoin created on 1st August 2017. The main difference between the two is that Bitcoin Cash applied an immediate increase to the block size to 8MB in order to increase the number of transactions that each block can handle. The aim of this was to decrease transaction fees.

Ethereum (ETH)Ethereum (ETH) is a smart contract platform that enables developers to build decentralized applications (dapps) conceptualized by Vitalik Buterin in 2013. ETH is the native currency for the Ethereum platform and also works as the transaction fees to miners on the Ethereum network. LiteCoinLaunched on October 2011 as a fork of Bitcoin by Charlie Lee, an ex Google employee, Litecoin is one of the oldest altcoins and an open source global payment network that is fully decentralized without any central authorities. Based on the Bitcoin protocol, it differs in terms of the used hashing algorithm. Litecoin uses the memory intensive Scrypt proof of work mining algorithm which allows consumer-grade hardware for mining. Litecoin features faster transaction confirmation times and improved storage efficiency than the leading math-based currency. With substantial industry support, trade volume and liquidity, Litecoin is a proven medium of commerce complementary to Bitcoin.
Binance Coin (BNB)Binance Coin is a coin issued by one of the most popular Crypto exchange platforms - Binance. It is being used on the Binance blockchain with a BEP2 standard as well as on the Ethereum blockchain with an ERC20 standard. It has a strict limit of maximum 200 million BNB coins. As a general rule of thumb if you believe in the success of the Binance platform then you should hold (hodl) this coin because it is one of the top Crypto coins out there with a lot of potential to increase in value.

RippleRipple is a global payment protocol and exchange network on top of a distributed ledger database established by a privately held company, XRP that aims to connect banks, payment providers, and digital asset exchanges.
